As you present in Sihanoukville, you just cannot miss a chance to visit Kbal Chhay Waterfall. Kbal Chhay Waterfall is made up from many smaller waterfalls which are rooted from the Pursat stream, located in Khan Prey Nup, about 16 kilometers north of the downtown Sihanoukville. It is a natural site along a high mountain range and forest. Kbal Chhay is well-known for its fascinating natural beauty.

Being discovered in 1960, after three years, Kbal Chhay turned out to be a significant reservoir supplying clean water to the Sihanoukville city. Since the civil war occurred, the Khmer Rouge made use of it as a hide-away. From 1997, the site converted to a tourism attraction as the Kok An Company signed a contract to build a route leading straight this land.   

The waterfall is 10 meters high and 8 meters wide during the rainy season. There is a reduction of water level in the dry season so that visitors can witness revealed huge rocks under the water. Its vegetation is also plentiful, especially types of mosses and ferns which grows in and out the water, covered the fall with a beautiful green. Apart from that, there are a lot of hammocks, food and drink vendors around the area to satisfy your demand. You can go swimming in the river and climbing and even hiking around the falls to enjoy the best views which is just far away from it.
